In Memory Of…
One thing we love to do is take in old and/or sick dogs. These are dogs that need help the most, and we’re more than glad to provide the best care we can give them. It might mean constant back/forth visits to the vet; waking up every few hours to give medicine; keeping a watchful eye on them during the day – whatever it takes to help them get healthy and go to a forever home, or in some cases, provide them with a loving, compassionate home for their final days. It’s the least we can do for them – to give them a chance when nobody else would.
We’ve said goodbye to Duke and Addison while they were our fosters. For each of them, before they passed on from this world, we officially adopted them so they could leave us with the dignity of having “officially” found a forever home, something we promise them that we’ll help them find when we take them in.
It’s the hardest thing you could ever do, saying goodbye; but it’s the kindest thing you can do for a friend who depends on your kindness and compassion.
